Brushy Creek Backyard BBQ Cook-Off
Festival and Concert Series Information
May 1st, 2010 from 11 am to 6 pm
In the parking lot & field to the left of the Brushy Creek Community Center.
The Community Center is located at 16318 Great Oaks Dr in Round Rock, TX
right off of highway 620. Below you can find all the information you
need about the festival. Entrance to the festival is 100% FREE, as is the live
music. We do not even charge for parking! Some activities and food do
have a small fee as you will find listed below so that you can arrive prepared
for some awesome BBQ, amazing music and a great time!

Activities for the Whole Family!
Available Food for Purchase
$6 - Plate of BBQ as part of the People's Choice Competiton from 11 am to 2 pm
Purchase a plate of BBQ and get a chance to cast your vote for the team
you like the best. Visit the teams that have a "People's Choice" sign on
their station and they will offer you the best of what they have on the grill.
Judge each team on their friendliness, the cleanliness of their station and
of course the taste of the food. Once you have had your fill of BBQ put
your vote ticket into your favorite team's bucket. The cost of your plate
purchase goes to the winning team! These plates are only offered as long
as supplies are available! Only 1,000 plates are being sold. Just because
the judging goes until 2 pm, does NOT mean we will still have plates available
at 2 pm. Please arrive early to make sure you get to be a part of the judging!
$5 - Hot Dogs & Sausage Wraps benefiting the McNeil High School FFA
$0.25 - Bottled Water compliments of the Cat Hollow HOA
*If you are 21 years old or older you are invited to bring your
own alcoholic beverages with you to the event. We do ask that
any alcoholic beverages be in non-glass containers. Anyone
with glass containers will be asked to leave the Cook-Off lot.
There will not be any alcoholic beverages for sale and Cookers
are not allowed to give you alcohol. Please drink responsibly!
Parking Information
Due to the amount of people expected at this event
we have arranged for several overflow parking locations.
(1) The parking lot of the Brushy Creek Community Center
located at 16318 Great Oaks Dr in Round Rock
(2) The parking lot of Great Oaks Elementary just a block west at 16455 Great Oaks Dr.
(3) The parking lot of the St. Phillip's United Methodist Church located at 16321 Great
Oaks Drive, directly across the street from the Community Center parking lot.
(4) The parking lot of Cedar Valley Middle School at 8139 Racine Trail. At the stop sign
in front of the Community Center turn the opposite way of the Community Center
and the school is on the left
Volunteering to be a Cook-Off Judge
Also, we are always looking for people to help judge the Cook-Off competition.
If you are interested in donating an hour of your time in exchange for a free
plate of delicious, competition worthy BBQ please email a.wood@bcmud.org
with the category you are interested in helping judge. The categories and times
that we have available are 10-11:30 am (Jackpot Beans), 11:30 am-1:00 pm (Cook's Choice),
1-2:30 pm (Chicken), 2:30-4:00 pm (Pork Spare Ribs), and 4:00-5:30 pm (Brisket).
