Camp Foxtail Summer 2013 - Your Tale of Summer Adventure!

What Is Camp Foxtail?

Camp Foxtail is a day camp program run by the Brushy Creek Municipal Utility Department's Program & Event staff. The camp consists of two sessions of Camp Mini-Fox and 11 individual week-long sessions. Each week will feature crafts, games, songs, sports, nature lessons, snacks, two trips to our district pools and one out of district field trip.

Who Can Participate?

Camp Foxtail is open to all children entering Kindergarten* to 6th grade. Once at camp children will be divided into age related groups to allow activities to be geared toward their age/skill levels. *While we do accept entering kinders, all campers must be potty trained before their first day of camp.

When Is Camp Foxtail?

Camp Foxtail occurs Monday through Friday each week from 9 am to 5 pm. We also offer pre-camp (7 to 9 am) and post-camp (5 to 6* pm) at no cost for BCCC Members and only $14 per week for Non-Members. This is a per week fee and cannot be divided up daily.
*Please note that there is a $5 fee for every 15 minutes a parent is late to pick up their child from post-camp beginning at 6 pm. If you know you are going to be late, please call the front desk at 512-255-7871 so that they can notify a counselor.

How Can I Register My Child for Camp Foxtail?

Registration will open for Summer 2013 on March 5th. You can either come in to the Community Center between 7 am and 7 pm Mon-Sat and 10 to 6 pm Sunday.

What do you need before my child's first day at Camp Foxtail?

Before your child can be signed in for their first day of camp, we will be giving you an Orange CF field trip shirt. These are to be worn on every field trip day. We will also be giving you a copy of the Parent Handbook. Please click here to open a copy of our Summer 2013 Parent Handbook.

Finally, we will need to have two items completed by the parents. To make your first morning drop-off a little quicker, please go ahead and print out these forms and bring them filled out to your child's first day of camp. These forms can also be filled out at Camper Day on May 22nd.

  • A Registration form (please make sure to check the photo release and transportation waivers at the bottom of the form)
  • An "About My Camper" & "Safe-Pick Up List" form (this will let us know a little more about your child's likes/dislikes, medical/behavioral needs, and who is allowed to pick them up from camp)

One feature of Camp Foxtail is that we ID all those who pick up campers to ensure their safety. This includes the parents, which can sometimes be a hassle, but is required. To make the identification process easier,  you can email a.jackson@bcmud.org a copy of an ID card for the people that will pick your child up most often (up to 2 IDs). These IDs will be printed and placed behind your childs Safe-Pick Up List. Each day at pick-up the counselor will ensure that the person picking up the child is one of the pictures on the back of the notecard instead of making the parents bring their IDs in each day. If you have any questions on this process, please email Alex.
