Rebecca Boatright Tullos was born in Austin, Texas and has lived in the Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District since 1992.   She is a current member of the Board of Directors having been elected in May of 2006 and is also the Treasurer of the Board.  Previously, Rebecca served as an appointed member of the Board filling two vacancies:  September 1998 – May 2000 and again in August 2005 – May 2006. 

 

Rebecca has been very active for many years with several of the District’s advisory committees.  In May of 2000, Rebecca was appointed by the Board to serve as a member on the District’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee.  She served as Chairperson of this committee from May of 2000 until August of 2005 at which time she was re-appointed to the Board of Directors.  As a member of the Board, Rebecca has served as the ex-officio Director to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee from 1998 – 2000 and from August 2005 to present day.  

 

Rebecca was actively involved in the construction of the District’s Community Center.  She served as a member on the Indoor Facility Committee and then later as Chairperson prior to the construction of the Community Center.  Rebecca also helped create the District’s Community Center Advisory Committee where she has served both as a committee member and alternate ex-officio Director for the Board of Directors since 2005.  In 2004 Rebecca was recognized for her leadership efforts in the building of the Community Center by the Austin Business Journal’s Biz Woman" section. 

 

Rebecca graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Accounting and is licensed in the State of Texas as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Her professional career experiences include serving as a bank auditor, working in public accounting performing audit and tax work, and holding financial upper management positions in several non-profit corporations.

 

Rebecca’s passion for her community is reflected in her dedication and commitment to Brushy Creek over a span of many years in a variety of capacities and activities.   She and her husband James reside in the Meadows with their two wonderful children, Morgan and Jake.

Russ Shermer, PHD - Secretary
Water-Wastewater Committee - Alternate
Place 2 - Term: May 2008 - May 2012

Russ received his PhD on computational physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 1991. After a two year post-doctoral fellowship, he has been working in the information technology field in the private sector.   Russ has developed software solutions for fifteen Fortune 1000 companies, has spoken at more than a dozen conferences and now leads major initiatives in Dell.

Russ met his wife Jill while training to run his first marathon. They moved to Austin in 2004 with their daughter Alia who swims with the Marlins.  In his non-existent spare time, Russ mountain bikes, plays guitar and builds low-wattage tube guitar amplifiers.

My vision for Brushy Creek:
I believe the Brushy Creek Board of Directors' highest priority is to make Brushy Creek the most desirable place to live in this area.  To that end, we need to do everything we can to improve the quality of life of the Residents in Brushy Creek by improving and maintaining the parks, trails, Community Center and water amenities while maintaining a competitive taxation structure.


Jeffrey D. Goldstein - Vice-President

 Jeffrey was born in Rochester, New York and lived in Minnesota and Arizona before moving to Texas in 2004.  Jeffrey, his wife Leigh and daughter Sarah have lived in the District since October 2005.  Jeffrey received his Juris Doctorate from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota and has worked as a paralegal for 25 years in various fields of law.  Jeffrey is currently working in the water practice group engaged in water and wastewater licensing and enforcement issues with Lloyd Gosselink Rochelle & Townsend in Austin.  Jeffrey has served on the District's Water & Wastewater Committee since 2007, the last as the chairman of the Committee.

Bob and his wife, Maria, daughter, Allison and son Collin have been residents of the District since 1998.  He also has a grown son Bob, that lives in Philadelphia. 

He served as Secretary and Chair of the Parks Committee and has chaired the Meadows of Brushy Creek Homeowners Association since 2005.   He  serves on the Northwest Swim Circuit Board of Directors and Brushy Creek Marlins Swim Team Board of Directors, and served as their President from 2004 – 2006. He has been active in Scouting for over 20 years.  He is a past president of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 88 in Maryland.

His professional career includes 20 years in county government in law enforcement and education. He was also a licensed real estate appraiser in Texas, a certified paramedic, and a documentary filmmaker. Bob held technical management positions at Dell and Motorola Semiconductor. He currently provides computer network consulting services for medical, dental, and professional businesses in the Austin area.

My vision for Brushy Creek:
I believe we have a unique opportunity in the coming years to expand our commercial tax base, reduce our property tax rate and raise the quality of life that is unique to Brushy Creek. We have many treasures in our community; including a state of the art water treatment facility, spacious parks and pools and a community center that is second to none. Citizen involvement is essential to our continued success. I am thrilled to live in this wonderful community and am honored to serve on its Board of Directors.

Shean Dalton - Assistant Treasurer - Assistant Secretary

In 2010, Shean was elected to the Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District Board of Directors, Place 5; honored to replace retiring and long standing Board member Cris Yackle.  Shean actively serves the professional and local community through board and committee roles including the Central Texas Electronics Association, Boy Scouts of America Troop 165 chartered by the Sam Bass Volunteer Fire Department, Pack 174 Chartered by the Round Rock Rotary Club, the Brushy Creek Marlins Swim Team and his neighborhood Home Owners Association.

Shean’s focus is on the future value of our community through a fiscally conservative perspective.  His efforts are to see continued enhancement and maintenance of the District, while promoting residential and commercial development and supporting community organizations and interests.

Shean was born in Dallas, Texas and attended Georgetown High School, where he was a member of BSA Explorer Post 151.    He met his wife Frances Escobar Dalton while they both earned degrees at Texas A&M University. Shean is a degreed Mechanical Engineer whose career spans various roles in the energy, electronics and healthcare IT fields.   

Shean and Frances are blessed with three wonderful children: Jacob and Phillipe, who attend Cedar Valley Middle School, and Franchesca, who attends Great Oaks Elementary.  Their children are active in football, baseball, soccer, baton twirling, band, Scouts and religious education at Saint Vincent de Paul.
