The Lake Georgetown lake level fell 22 feet below normal back in August of 2009 and dropped at a rate of about one foot per week. Because of the seriousness of this situation, the District coordinated efforts with the Brazos River Authority (who manages Lake Georgetown’s water supply) to curtail water use in the Region by implementing Stage II of our Drought Management Plan at that time.
The picture #1 was an image of Lake Georgetown back in August and the black line reflects where the "Normal" lake level should be and the red line reflects where the lake was at that time.
The picture #2 is an image of Lake Georgetown in its current state. The black line relects where the "Normal" lake level should be. As you can see, we have achieved our goal and for that reason, the Stage II has been lifted. We thank our residents for all of their conservation efforts.
