Swim Team training at Sendero Springs Pool

S.P.E.E.D  Swim Team Training

Swim Practicing Excellence Every Day or S.P.E.E.D. is training in technique, strength,

and conditioning of  both the mind and the body. Drawing on 24 years of coaching

and two decades of swimming and water polo  experience, coach Chris uses an

underwater speaker system to correct and guide swimmers while they are swimming.

Through this direct connection, Coach Chris teaches swimmers to build muscle

memory for proper stroke technique much faster than can be achieved by cranking

out laps elsewhere. Though the technique work is serious, we also have fun with

noodle and other “creative” races. Sessions are run in a year-round, team-training

environment, but with a flexible schedule.

September – April @ Sendero Springs Pool (heated to 83 degrees)

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday   You pick the number of days you

want to swim per week. Coach Chris evaluates each swimmer and assigns the

appropriate practice time.

Progressive Swim Lessons

Brushy Creek provides a Progressive instructional lesson program for all ages, abilities, levels and interests. The lessons are a foundation of water skills and safety guidelines so participants can enjoy a lifetime of safe, healthy aquatics activites. Learning to swim can help children and adults build self confidence and self esteem. Overcoming fears about water and learning swimming and other aquatic skills develop pride and confidence around the water. Adults in particular appreciate learning skills that they missed when they were younger and have a sense of achievement when they finally master them.

Swim Lessons start in April and run through September. Child Lessons and Adult Lessons available

Water Aerobics

Water Aerobic exercise is not about just swimming, it is a perfect exercise even for fitness novices. Water exercise allows you to burn calories and build your strength and flexibility. The buoyancy offered by the water causes less strain on your joints and muscles. Some water exercises are performed in waist level or at chest level while some water aerobics exercises such as jogging are carried out in deeper water where the person's body is completely submerged. Water Aerobics is a cool and fun way to work out. The advantage of exercising in water is that it offers resistance in all directions as opposed to land exercises which work against gravity. Find out how you can get a total body workout without breaking into a sweat.

Water Aerobics start in April and run through September.
