The Opportunity with Brushy Creek MUD: 

Come work as the finance and accounting expert and go-to-member of the Brushy Creek Municipal Utility Districts executive team.  You will oversee the financial, investment oversight and risk management operations of the District, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve the District’s assets and to report accurate financial results.

The Organization:

Originally formed as Williamson County Municipal Utility District No. 2 in 1977, Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District provides water and wastewater services, recreational activities and beautiful gardens and parks to the Brushy Creek community. The primary neighborhoods include Brushy Creek North, Sendero Springs, Brushy Creek South, Hillside, the Villages of Brushy Creek, Cat Hollow, the Meadows, the Woods of Brushy Creek and Highland Horizons. Brush Creek employees 175 team members including part time and seasonal.

The Position:

We are seeking a confident, assertive, talented, hands-on working manager to step into the role of CFO for a dynamic customer service focused public sector organization.

  • Ideal candidates will have a mastery of knowledge, skills and abilities in preparing organization-wide budgets, financial statements, developing and reporting revenue projections, risk management, and conducting financial reviews for governmental entities or not-for-profit organizations.
  • Candidates should also have proven ability to administer payroll according to local, state and Federal requirements, proven skills in interpreting data analytics and trends to recommend solutions. A proven ability to recommend improvements to processes and systems, promote excellence and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
  • And last, but not least, candidates should have foundational knowledge of the Public Funds Investment Act’s requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field from an accredited university.
  • 15 years of progressively responsible experience working in governmental entities or in not-for-profit organizations.
  • 10 years’ experience managing the finance function in governmental entities or in not-for-profit organizations.
  • 5 years’ experience managing administrative functions in governmental entities or in not-for-profit organizations.
