Adult Programs : BC METS - Memoirs

memoir writing

We all have so many funny, interesting stories, and writing them down can be such a wonderful gift to ourselves and the people in our lives. Best of all, it doesn't have to be a massive undertaking. You can simply take small memories or stories, and write them down. They can be half a page, three pages, they can be funny, factual, odd, sad, silly, whatever!

In our class, we will discuss memoir writing, talk about inspiration, and read some examples. Interested participants will write stories at home, in our own voice and style, and, if they choose to, share them in class. It doesn't have to be "good" - no writing experience required! Some topic ideas include: family, school, places I've gone, funny incidents, friends, vacations, pets, jobs, places I've lived.
