Texas Recycles Day

Join Keep Brushy Creek Beautiful to Celebrate Texas Recycles Day

The District hosts an annual Texas Recycles Day afterschool event as part of Keep Brushy Creek Beautiful. The event focuses on education of elementary school age children. Activity stations are provided in two meeting rooms of the Community Center to teach children what can be recycled in the curbside recycling program, additionally how to recycle and re-use items that cannot go into the curbside recycling bin. The theme of the program this year is “I just met you, and this is crazy…show me how to recycle…maybe.”

The event will be held on Friday November 16th from 3 pm until 5pm. Participants for the event can arrive at the Oak and Elm rooms of the community center any time between 3 and 5pm. They must accompanied by a parent, guardian or scout troop leader and sign in. Participants can then move between 8 separate stations that feature recycling themes. The District will provide water, juice and health snacks for the children during the event. Participants will be able to receive a patch for their scout or campfire uniform. To register for the event please call Rachel Hagan at 255-7871 x 405.
