Solar Eclipse Watch Party

Meet up in Cat Hollow Park for a rare astronomical event! On August 21, a total eclipse will occur across the country as the moon moves directly between the sun and the earth. In Brushy Creek, we will see a partial eclipse of about 65% coverage of the sun. The eclipse begins at 11:41 am and the peak is at 1:10 pm. Watch the eclipse and learn more about astronomy with your neighbors in Cat Hollow Park.  See you there!

Activities:

FREE solar eclipse glasses will be available (you MUST protect your eyes)

Bring a small item or note to place in the time capsule for opening at the next total eclipse in 2024!

Pinhole viewer craft, modified telescope, art center, educational information, snacks and drinks. 

If you have a camera with a tri-pod, we will have tips on settings/exposure times.
