11/19/2025 - NOTICE: No Motorized Vehicles Are Allowed in District Parks and Trails

Dear Brushy Creek MUD residents,

We hope you’re all enjoying the beautiful trails, parks, and greenspaces that make our community so special. We want to remind everyone that motorized bikes and scooters are not allowed on District trails and parks, both for safety and to preserve the peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere we all appreciate.

BRUSHY CREEK MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT ORDER 25-0710-04 ADOPTING AMENDED PARKS, TRAILS, GREENSPACES, AND SWIMMING POOL POLICIES AND RULES states:

  • Motorized vehicles are not permitted in park, trail, or greenspace areas, except for limited mobility-related use by individuals with disabilities as permitted under ADA guidelines (e.g. electric wheelchairs, mobility scooters). Unauthorized use of motorized vehicles is subject to enforcement.

While motorized scooters and bikes might seem fun, they carry real risk. According to state-based research, e-scooter injury rates are estimated at 180 injuries per million vehicle-miles traveled—around 175–200 times higher than the injury rate for other motor vehicles in Texas.

Additionally, under Texas law, the same traffic rules that apply to bicycles also apply to other motor-assisted bikes and scooters when they’re used on sidewalks or paths. Because of the danger—not just to riders, but to pedestrians and other trail users—we must keep our trails and parks motor-free.

If you see someone operating a motorized scooter or bike in a prohibited location or reckless way, please call the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line at 512-943-1300 or on District property, Brushy Creek MUD Security at 512-255-7871 x232. Your call could help prevent accidents before they happen.

We love our residents, and we truly appreciate everyone’s help in keeping our community safe and welcoming. Thank you for doing your part to exemplify The Brushy Creek Life.
