9/7/2021 - Hazardous Waste Disposal Information

An Illicit discharge is any discharge to the stormwater system that is not composed entirely of stormwater.

Non-stormwater discharged into our storm drain system enters directly into our waterways. Dumping household hazardous wastes like insecticides, pesticides, paints, solvents, motor oil, pool chemicals, and other fluids can adversely impact plants, fish, animals, and people.

In addition, even seemingly harmless household activities, such as dumping yard waste and draining chlorinated water from swimming pools, can have adverse impacts.

More information on illicit discharge can be found at the District’s website.
