Contamination 

Contaminated items are NOT recyclable.  Contamination can happen in several ways:

• Food waste – wash containers.  Food left on containers contaminates the container and makes it unrecyclable.  Rinsing/washing items keeps them recyclable and keeps your recycle bin clean.   

• Placing non-recyclable items in the recycle bin contaminates the receptacle.  Plastic bags are only recyclable if returned to the correct place (H-E-B and Walmart).  Plastic bags clog up the sorting equipment at the recycle plant. 

Please do not place items in the bin unless they are on the accepted list.
